If you are bored of the look of your operating system, with Desktop Lite Thingy you can give it a different aspect. It is an application that eliminates all the shortcuts created on the desktop and Windows toolbar, to create just one window as a program launcher.
The window it shows includes the following information: username of the person who started the session, day, date and time. It will then list the programs found running at that moment, and the folders and shortcuts in the Windows Start menu.
Once Desktop Lite Thingy is activated, to open any application you just have to drag the mouse cursor to the place in the window (by default in the lower left of the monitor) and select the program you want.
